Who we are
When visitors submit inquiry forms on the site we collect the data entered in the form, the visitor’s IP address along with browser user agent information to help prevent spam submissions.
If you upload images on a contact form, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included that you do not wish to share. Recipients of the image can download and extract any location data from images that you share.
If you submit a form on our site we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies, and a secondary cookie for storage of the form content . This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.) that are hosted on Vimeo and other external sites. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Who we share your data with
Data submitted by you on a contact form will be used only by the Domestic Light project team members for purposes of responding to your interest in the project.
Mailing list: You can also elect to sign-up to receive mailing list information about the project exhibitions and screenings in which case we will send email to that address using an email service such as MailChimp and the SendinBlue mailing service.
Should you decided to participate in the Project you will receive a full disclosure of all data that would be collected as a project participant as part of participation and can request a copy of the Project’s Data Management Plan.
How long we retain your data
If you submit a inquiry form and do not elect to participate any form submissions will be deleted at the end of the project in 2024.
If you decide to participate in the project and host a sensor your data will be covered under a separate Data Management Plan as part of being a sensor host.
Anonymized website user data such as visiting IP addresses and pages visited may be retained indefinititely.
Visitor comments and form submissions may be checked through an automated spam detection service and are also handled by our web hosting service and email service.
What rights you have over your data
If you create an account on this site, or have left submitted written inquiries using a contact form, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us so long as you provide information sufficient for us to identify the data held if any. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
